What an incredible author
I was amazed at the insight Beth Moore had when I read through this book. I used it as a basis when I led my Men's group through the book of James. Yes, I know it was written to women, but the wisdom she has shouldn't be limited to only half the world. I always liked the book of James, but after going though this study, I absolutely love it. The depth and background she revealed connected me intimately with James letter. Thank you Beth Moore for pouring yourself into this book.
Scattered poor foundation
Author is all over the place. The book has the user reinforce and write the author’s message (non biblical) not the biblical text. I struggle through the first 4 chapters before finding the one mercy in the text was to toss the text in the recycle bin. I could not in good faith donate the book to another reader.
... study this summer with my church and I just love Beth Moore
I am doing this study this summer with my church and I just love Beth Moore. She is so real and gets into scripture for us in what we deal with now as Christians in this ever changing world...no matter what her study is she is relatable and that is what makes her so great!
So good!!!
"James" is such a practical book in the Bible, and Beth Moore takes it verse by verse in this study. There are different levels in which you can do the study. Level 1 is videos only (no home-work), level 2 is videos and home-work (home-work is 5 days per week), level 3 is videos, home-work, and writing out the book of James (there is room provided to do that in this book), level 4 is all of the above plus extra reading that takes you deeper yet (in the book too), and lastly, level 5 which is all the above plus memorizing the 5 chapters of James. You choose which level best suits you, and jump in! I highly recommend this study!! Beth outdid herself here!
Love Ms Beth
Ms Beth brings it again. This study allows you to engage on 5 different levels, based on what you can do in your life right now!
Bible Study
Have always love Beth Moore studies, this is certainly no exception. Initially, studying the book of James would not have been my first choice in her studies but I must say I am drawn into this study more than some of the others. James, in his short 5 chapters, says so much we need to hear. After all, he was Jesus' brother. how could he believe "his" bro was truly the Son of God! And, of course, Beth Moore's inspiration, that truly comes from God, to pull out what I would have never drawn from James on my own.
Condition
The book was bought used. It was like brand new very pleased with condition and promptness of delivery.
False advertising
This product was marked as VERY GOOD - There is writing and highlighting throughout and end binder very bent out of place. This study is not VERY GOOD it is fair at best.
Live it
It’s one thing to be moved by scripture and learn a great deal from Bible studies. It’s another thing altogether to LIVE IT! Are you a forgetful hearer or an effectual doer? This study is exactly what you need.
This study has made James one of my favorite books
Another excellent study by Beth Moore. Our group of 12 has just one week left and we agree that this study has changed our lives. The workbook is thoughtfully designed with plenty of room for answers and notes. I was prepared to supplement with something else but have had plenty of room to make all my notes and keep it in one place. Are you ready to be challenged? This study, like James itself, doesn't mince words.
